Rates & Insurance

Quirky Brain believes healthcare is a human right. As such, Quirky Brain is committed to a rate structure rooted in affordability and equitable access to services. Quirky Brain utilizes a three-tier rate structure*, trusting in you as the consumer to make the best choice for you and your own financial circumstancesSession rates are also dependent on the type of therapy and the amount of time required for each session.

In order to ensure the best care possible, Quirky Brain is a self-pay only practice and does not accept commercial insurance. This ensures your treatment plan and sessions are tailored to your individual needs, and that your privacy is respected and maintained. Being a self-pay only practice also ensures your therapist is able to be fully focused on your therapeutic care, without the added ongoing executive functioning strain of communication and compliance with insurance companies.

Although we are not in-network with any insurance plans, we are happy to work with clients who have out-of-network benefits. If your health insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement for a portion (usually up to 80%) of the cost of therapy. We can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We recommend you check with your insurance provider to determine your out-of-network benefits and coverage details, as this varies by plan. To ease and simplify the out-of-network reimbursement process, Quirky Brain is a participating provider with Reimbursify, an out-of-network insurance claims reimbursement mobile app. This app is free to use for all Quirky Brain out-of-network reimbursement claim submissions.

No Surprises Act

The No Surprises Act is a law passed in 2022 designed to protect patients from surprise medical bills. It requires health care providers give patients a Good Faith Estimate of the anticipated costs of their therapy before they receive care. This estimate will include the amount of money the provider will charge for the therapy, as well as any additional costs that may come up during the course of the therapy. By providing patients with a Good Faith Estimate, the No Surprises Act helps ensure they are not hit with unexpected costs that can come with therapy. The No Surprises Act is an important part of making sure mental health practitioners are honest and transparent in communicating cost of treatment to clients. Quirky Brain upholds these values of transparency, integrity, and economic justice in all charges and transactions.
